The Washington State Fire Lookout Guide has been a labor of love for many years.
I've spent hundreds of hours visiting lookouts and former lookout sites across Washington—researching their history, taking photographs, documenting what I've found, building maps, writing trip reports, and pulling all of that information together into one place.
And the work doesn't stop once a page is published. Lookouts are restored, damaged, moved, and sometimes lost. New historical information surfaces. Photos and details become outdated. I continue to maintain the guide as I learn more, keeping the histories, photographs, and status of Washington's remaining fire lookouts as current as I reasonably can.
Road and access conditions can change quickly, however, and the guide should never be considered a source for current conditions. Always check with the appropriate land manager before heading out.
