This post was originally published on the Rad Girls Life blog and was written about my very first mountaineering outing: climbing Mount St. Helens in 2015 on New Year's Day.

A huge fire lookout geek, I've visited every historic fire lookout in Washington, staff the Goat Peak fire lookout near my home in the Methow Valley, and help to research and preserve these historic structures.
